STACK Interiors partnered with One New Zealand to deliver a strategic workplace at Wynyard Quarter that consolidates 1,200 staff and completely redefines the role of the office. Driven by the concept of the “new offsite,” the design moves beyond standard corporate comfort to capture the fluid energy and hospitality of the city centre, creating a high-performance sanctuary where cross-functional teams and partners genuinely choose to connect.

The three-level layout uses intuitive atrium bridges and architectural stairs to foster spontaneous interaction. The spatial experience thrives on a moody, masterfully layered tension between technological precision and Aotearoa’s natural landscape by juxtaposing digital canvases with warm timbers, stone textures, and a centralized, dark forest-inspired Network Operations Centre (NOC) capsule.

Each zone is purposeful: the lower levels anchor deep work and flexible hybrid collaboration, while the double-height atrium on Level 6 acts as a vibrant social hub, complete with internal winter gardens and a community kitchen framing exceptional harbour views. Cultural narratives are seamlessly integrated, including a Poutama inspired portal symbolising whakapapa and a Matariki fibre-optic constellation ceiling.

Sustainability and manaakitanga are embedded throughout, integrated within a basebuild targeting a 6 Green Star rating and Platinum WELL certification. By elevating the industry standard for workplace design, this future-focused environment successfully alters corporate behaviours, transforming everyday attendance into an irresistible centre of gravity and a true destination.
