STACK Interiors has recently completed the design and delivery of Mott MacDonald’s new Auckland workplace at 30 Daldy Street, Wynyard Quarter.
Relocating from two separate floors into a single expansive level, Mott MacDonald sought a space that would bring people together — creating a destination that celebrates collaboration, care for people, culture, and the environment.
A strong narrative of connection underpins the design, linking place, people, and Mott MacDonald’s global expertise in engineering and infrastructure. At the heart of the workplace, a central “street” acts as both connector and metaphor, guiding movement, encouraging collaboration, and reflecting the flow of ideas throughout the organisation.
The design balances raw and refined elements — exposed structural details and dynamic lighting reference infrastructure and innovation, while natural timber tones and lush planting bring warmth and a distinctly Aotearoa sensibility.
Drawing inspiration from Wynyard Quarter’s transformation from reclaimed land to an innovation precinct, the workplace seamlessly merges past and future, land and sea, infrastructure and nature. The result is a timeless, purposeful environment that embodies Mott MacDonald’s values and fosters a sense of connection and belonging.
