AIR NEW ZEALAND AVIATION INSTITUTE
The refurbishment of the Aviation Institute was an opportunity to address how internal and external spaces were impacting on the ability for students and teaching staff to utilise the campus. Air New Zealand also wanted to create a more modern campus style aesthetic. Stack addressed the functional requirements of 400-600 thoroughfare everyday and incorporated visual queues from the Air NZ airport environment. The main entry became open and welcoming with a greater degree of transparency, with the staff cafe courtyard creating year round use of external spaces.
The end result has been an environment which supports the new brand and also provides a series of greatly improved communal spaces, which not only reflect aspects of the Air New Zealand Customer Experience, but provides a place where the student experience is enhanced.
